Light Long Dead
Behold, it’s the First Dawning
Time glanced at newborn light
Awakened in silence
The birth of the stars
You were born like a sun
As vast clouds emerged
There was nobody else
There was nothing at all
Time can be bent on this flight
Through frozen shadows
How can it be?
Ghosts in the sky
Come, witness and die
All slaves to the Light
A glimpse of forever
Upon the night sky
All slaves to the light
Blessing and curse
It touches your eyes
A Light that’s long dead
Sooner or later you must understand
Stars are our fathers and we are their sons
No longer need to try to find out who I am
No longer move in circles
Rise and fall again
Deny your blindness, your sadness, your death
We’re made of stars, so now…
Eternal we are
Light long dead shines
For your eyes, for your place to find
From the raging well of infinity
Barren suns no longer shine
Wake up, it’s a New Dawning
Rejoice the living light
And always remember the stars that won’t shine
Time can be bent on this flight
Through frozen shadows
So it must be..
Gods in the sky
Come, witness the reign
All slaves to the Light
A glimpse of eternal
Demise and rebirth
All slaves to the light
Blessing and curse
It touches your eyes
A Light that’s long dead
Eternal dance across the sky
As puppets on their strings
I raise my head towards the stars
My brothers
Oh.. I know it goes on and on.

It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic. dungeonvic
